Wanquan River, with its natural zoology the most perfectly conserved in China’s tropical zone, named as the Chinese Amazon, is regarded as the mother river in Hainan.
It originates from Five-Finger Mountain (Mt. Wuzhishan). Along the upper reaches are marvelous peaks, flourishing coconut trees and busy maritime traffic that make it difficult for people to tear themselves away from the charming water scenery. Along the lower reaches are densely-covered ports.
The river valley of the upper stream of the Wanquan River is very narrow. The flow is very rapid, making it a good place for rafting. Due to the warm climate, this activity is available all year round.
Drifting down the Wanquan River requires passing nine rapids that are full of surprises rather than dangers. Therefore, it is a really relaxing activity.
When drifting, you can also enjoy breathtaking scenery along the river, forests, mountains, flying birds, waterfalls and mysterious caves, etc.
Gorge-related games are also available on the upper reaches of the Wanquan River such as abseiling, crayoning and stream trekking. Abseiling is to fall off more than 10 meters down to the deep pool with the help of the rope. Cayoning is to fall along a waterfall to the lower pool. Stream trekking is a challenging wading activity. The explorers wear life jacket and anti-skidding boots to pass deep or shallow water. Some are as deep as several meters and some are full of rocks.
