To regulate the seafood market and attempt to increase the service level of the tourist consumer market, 168 seafood restaurants in Sanya will install the price supervision system before the Spring Festival holidays.

According to authorities, the price supervision system consists of an electronic dish-ordering system, price publication screen and POS accounting system.

At present, 157 seafood stalls in Sanya have installed the electronic dish-ordering system, 131 stalls have installed the price publication screen, and 168 stalls have installed the POS accounting system.

Besides, the government will set up an official website for the seafood industry and popularize the qualified seafood restaurants or stalls to visitors to Hainan via phone messages.

Hu Bingying also said that the government was severely cracking down on seafood stalls' bad behavior including cheating and ripping off customers. If a serious incident comes to light, the stall's business license could be revoked and the operator forbidden from conducting similar business for three years.

During the Spring Festival holidays, the complaint hotline ‘12315’ will be open 24 hours a day, and all industry staff and the commerce bureau will continue to work to ensure consumers’ complaints are handled in a timely manner.
