Authentic Thai taste: Thai Restaurant in Mangrove Tree Resort
Native Thai chefs serve classic Thai cuisine on the Mangrove’s open-air deck.
Thai Restaurant has all your favorite Thai classics, including a tasty green papaya salad and a spicy shrimp tom yum soup. The dishes are a little sweet but bursting with flavor from just the right amounts of raw garlic and onion and fresh cilantro and chili. The desserts are not to be missed, with mango sticky rice and bananas in coconut milk that will leave you craving more.
The restaurant’s lack of solid walls, high vaulted ceilings and stilted elevation gives the place a Thai feel that extends beyond the cuisine.
Recommended dishes are Curry Hele Crab (咖喱和乐蟹), Tom Yum Goong soup (冬阴功汤, vinegar-pepper shrimp soup, the “national soup” of Thailand), Thai “Rubine” (泰国红宝石, a kind of Thai sweetmeats served in coconut juice), Stir-Fried Rice with Pineapple (菠萝炒饭) and Curry Sirloin (咖喱牛腩).
