Fish Tea, a specialty dish for Hainan’s Li & Miao minorities
Hainan Fish Tea
The Fish Tea is popular amongst the Li & Miao Minorities around the Tongshi District (痛什市) of Hainan and is offered to visiting guests as a primary refreshment. It is one of these Minorities typical dishes and is in fact a special type of fish. Because it takes time to boil the fish, a kind of tea is made from the cooking water mixed with the flesh of the fish.
The taste of fish tea is a little sour, sweet and salty with a fragrant aroma and agreeable taste. Everyone who has tried fish tea universally praises it.
