Baisha Green Tea, the health beverage drunk by Hainan’s Li people
Hainan Baisha State Farm is an enterprise specializing in rubber and tea, founded in1958, and located in Li Nationality Autonomous County. It has a population of 5176.The farm has cultivated 2893-hectares land, with annual output of 1500,000 kg dry rubber, the land area tea plantation is 189 hectares, with its output of 210,000.kg; there are 384 hectares for tropical fruits planting.
Baisha Green Tea (白沙绿茶) is both a famous brand in Hainan Province and a well-known special product with local characteristics. "Baisha" green tea has won many titles. It has been certified as the green food by China Green Food Development Center since 1991. In 2004, the State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision started to protect Baisha Green Tea as a product of original manufacture.
