Haikou to build bridge to connect to cruise island
The south China port city, Haikou on Hainan Island, is planning to build a bridge to connect the city and a man-made island dedicated to cruise tourism.
The 2.3 km bridge project includes the construction of the main bridge and an approach bridge. The new bridge will be the only overland connection to the man-made island when completed.
The man-made cruise island is off the north side of the west coast of Haikou city wnd when complete will be able to handle giant 250,000 ton-class cruise ships.
