A marina in Sanya, Hainan

 

In search of developing its yacht industry, Hainan is now encouraging Taiwan businessmen to help build a yacht-manufacturing base.

 

"Yacht manufacturing is well-developed in Taiwan and we welcome Taiwan businessmen to invest in building a yacht-manufacturing base in Hainan," said Party Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Committee Wei Liucheng.

Wei commented that Hainan and Taiwan have many similarities, such as tourist appeal and agriculture. Wei believes Hainan’s yacht industry is a good opportunity for Taiwan enterprises.

 

"Hainan is the only tropical island in China and is warmer than Taiwan. People can drive yachts year-round here," he said.
