Binglanggu Valley alive with the arrival of Tour of Hainan cyclists
On October 24th and 25th, 2013, the Li and Miao Ecological Cultural Tourism Area of Ganza Ridge Areca Valley in Baoting County was alive with the arrival of cyclists in the Tour of Hainan.
Thousands of local visitors, fans as well as media at the scenic spot watched the 20 cycling teams arrive.
The Binglanggu Valley was part of the cycle route along the 5th stage from Wanning to Sanya and 6th stage from Sanya to Wuzhishan.
During the cycling race, the riders competed up a climb on the trail that crosses that one of the exciting and challenging stretches, the Ganza Ridge Areca Valley of Baoting County, in Hainan this year.
As of last of Friday, Belkin-Pro Cycling continued to dominate the top ranks among the 140 riders from one UCI ProTeam and four UCI Professional Continental Teams.
About Tour of Hainan
The Tour of Hainan is an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Hainan Province, China.
Each year the Tour of Hainan cycling race draws contestants from around the world. Approved by the International Cycling Federation this race has been running annually since 2006. This eight stage course takes competitors from Sanya, around the island and through the mountains of the interior to Haikou and back.
About Binglanggu Valley
Located on the border of Sanya city and Baoting County, approximately 28 kilometers from Sanya, The Li and Miao Ecological Cultural Tourism Area of Ganza Ridge Areca Valley (Binglanggu Valley for short) covers a total area of 339.3 square kilometers.
The reserve is named Binglanggu because it is formed by a valley which is several kilometers long and covered with thousands of areca palms and lush greenery on both slopes.
The reserve consists of three main sections: the primitive Li Minority village, the ecological Miao Minority village and tropical jungle. It is one of the most important tourist attractions in Hainan and is among its top ten scenic spots.
