2013 IKA Kiteracing World Championship set for Boao’s King Bay
The 2013 IKA Kiteracing World Championship is to be held from November 18th to 24th at King Bay in Bo’ao county of Qionghai city, Hainan, with registration taking place on November 18th and 19th, and racing from November 20th to 24th, according to the press conference of the event.
160 kiteboarders from 43 countries are expected to attend the competition, and a total prize purse of $20,000 is up for grabs, according to the organizers.
Meng Weihua, the deputy mayor of Qionghai city, said at the press conference that this is the first time the IKA Kiteracing World Championship is to be held in China, and the event will be a big event for Qionghai city.
The 2013 IKA Kiteracing World Championship is jointly sponsored by the Hainan Department of Culture Radio Television Publication & Sports, Qionghai City People’s Government, the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) and Kiteboard Tour Asia (KTA).
