The 2013 Tour of Hainan will kick off in Chengmai, Hainan on Oct. 20 and a total of 140 cyclists will participate in the event, the organizers announced on September 27th.
 
The length of the Tour of Hainan 2013 reaches 1,461.5 kilometers, which covers 18 cities and counties in Hainan Province. The course of the whole event will be divided into 9 stages.
 
The nine-day race attracts 20 teams from 24 countries and regions, including one UCI ProTeam and four UCI Professional Continental Teams. The professional cyclists will compete for a prize purse of RMB 2.1 million .
 
The cycling event is held every year since 2006.
