2012 ‘super-long’ Tour of Hainan to kick off on October 20
The 2012 Tour of Hainan International Road Cycling Race, also called Tour of Hainan, will be held from the 20th to the 28th October in Sanya.
At present 140 cyclists from 20 cycling teams from all over the world, including the Union Cyclist International (UCI) professional team, UCI Professional Continental team, UCI Continental team and national team, have been confirmed to be competing in the race.
Tour of Hainan has been successfully held 6 times from 2006 to 2011. The cycling race will both start and finish in Sanya. Covering a total distance of 1489.4 km, the race will visit all 18 cities and counties in Hainan.
According to the organizing committee, the professional cyclists will be competing for a prize of US$ 35,000 dollars.
