British baby girl defies odds to survive with a wrong-side heart
Survivor … newborn Princess in hospital
A BABY girl defied million-to-one odds to survive — after her heart grew on the WRONG side.
Princess Tiiaana Majewski was not expected to be born alive when pregnancy scans revealed the problem.
Her heart was on the right instead of the left — and her right lung and left kidney were missing.
But the tiny heart and other organs developed to compensate as she grew in mum Charley’s womb.
Princess weighed 6lb when she was born at 39 weeks. She is now 20 weeks old and doing so well that cardiologists at Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool, say she WON’T need surgery.
The tot is now home with her mum and mechanic dad Michal, both 19, at Warrington, Cheshire.
Charley said: “Her lung and kidney are a good size and make up for the missing ones.
"Doctors are amazed with her progress. She really is a miracle.”
A spokesman for Warrington Hospital, where Princess was born, said: “It’s great to hear that she is doing so well.”
