National College Student Track and Field Championships
 
The 12th National College Student Track and Field Championships is going to be held September 25th to September 28th in the Sanya Sports Centre, which is set to be the first large-scale national-level sports event ever held since its completion, reports Nanhai Website.
 
Altogether 117 college delegations including Peking University and Tsinghua University, and over 1400 team leaders, coaches, and athletes will participate in the competition. At present, 300 volunteers from universities in Sanya are being trained to ensure security and service work.
 
The Sanya Sports Centre covers an area of 33,000 square metres and seats 18,000 spectators, and has achieved qualification to hold national-level sports event in June this year.
 
“As the biggest annual track and field event to be held in Sanya, Sanya will promote the city image and the tournament will play an active role in encouraging all citizens to take exercise,” said an official in charge.
