The 2011 Tour of Hainan International Road Cycling Race (Here after referred to as "Tour of Hainan") is going to kick off on 20th October in Sanya, reports Nanhai Website.
At present, 20 cycling teams from all over the world have been confirmed to compete in the "Tour of Hainan", including countries and regions such as America, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Switzerland, South Africa, Spain, Australia, Malaysia, China, China Taipei and Union Cyclist International (UCI).
Hosted by the People’s Government of Hainan Province, General Administration of Sport of China and CCTV, and co-organized by Chinese Cycling Association, the Department of Culture Radio Television Publication and Sports of Hainan Province and the People’s Government of Sanya, Tour of Hainan will be held from October 20 to October 28, 2011, covering a total distance of 1399.3 kilometers.
As one of the most influential cycling races in Asia, Tour of Hainan has been successfully held 5 times, from 2006 to 2010. The competition level has been upgraded to Asian top-level 2.HC.
The route of the Tour of Hainan 2011 is counter-clockwise, including all types of road racings such as flat roads, hills and mountainous regions. The cycling race will start and finish both in Sanya, and 18 cities and counties will be covered during the course, such as Lingshui, Five Finger Mountain, Baoting, Wanning, Qionghai, Wenchang and Haikou.
