According to the related department, the Sanya Dadonghai national diving training base, which is under reconstruction, is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of 2013.
 
The Sanya Dadonghai national diving training base, put into use in 1992, is the main training base for China’s national diving team, which has won outstanding achievements in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games after training there.
 
In order to meet the requirements of modern physical training, the Sanya Dadonghai national diving training base was taken down and reconstructed in December, 2010. The reconstruction is set to be completed by 2013.
 
The Dadonghai national diving base will become a modern training base enlarged to 17000 square meters instead of 6000 square meters, supporting facilities such as national-standard diving pools, training halls, athletes apartments, and biochemical monitoring which will be able to guarantee comprehensive training requirements for athletes.
