A National 5A Wetland Park will be built in Wenchang City, Hainan Province on the basis of the construction of ‘Eight Bay Greenway’, reports Hainan Daily.
The National Wetland Park will combine six factors in food, accommodation, transportation, travel, amusement and shopping after investigating a similar tourist project in Shandong and Zhejiang provinces, according to the official in charge.
The most important part of the National 5A Wetland Park is the Eight Bay Mangrove Forest, which covers a protected area of 2,948 hectares and a forest area of 2,732 hectares. Besides Mangrove species, there are unique Mangrove forests along the shores of Xiachang village. The Wetland Park is under pre-programming on the basis of the existing Eight Bay Greenway, and the construction of supporting facilities are on-going.
