China’s national flying saucer training base to settle in Baoting
According to the Hainan Provincial Culture and Sports Bureau, the National Flying Saucer Training Base of China will settle in Baoting Autonomous County, Hainan.
With a total investment of RMB1.6 billion, the construction of the project will be kicked off at the end of this year, covering a total construction area of 164,600 square meters and a total planning land area of 55.07 hectares.
The construction period is estimated to be 48 months. On the basis of the planning requirement, this project will be constructed as a multifunctional comprehensive training base combining flying saucer shooting team training, scientific research, international exchanges, meetings, holidays, culture and sports together.
The project is expected to increase local taxes of more than RMB200 million after being put into use, and will also boost local tourism and related industries, creating more than 1,500 job opportunities.
At present, there are totally 8 national sports training bases in Hainan province, with some still under construction.
