On the afternoon of September 25, 2010, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, Head of the Publicity Department, Vice Governor Tan Li met with Malaysian Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen in Haikou.

Eight people, including Ng Yen Yen and other seven members of the delegation, will visit Hainan Province from September 24 to 26. The purpose of this visit is to pay an official call to leaders of our province and principals of relevant departments, investigate the current situation of tourism industry in Hainan Province and discuss the possibilities in cooperation of exchange visits of tourists and increasing of flights.

Tan Li expressed his warm welcome to the Malaysian guests and gave a brief introduction of Hainan. Tan Li said Hainan has rich tourism resources and the government is building it into international tourism destination. Tan hoped to further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation in tourism promotion, airlines between Hainan and Malaysia.

Ng Yen Yen was confident in the future prospect of Hainan International Tourism Destination. She said tourism is an important industry in Malaysia. She is willing to share the experience with Hainan in developing tourism. She also invited Hainan provincial officials and entrepreneurs to visit Malaysia in due time to further reinforce the mutual cooperation.

Attendees also included relevant principals from Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hainan Province ,Hainan Provincial Tourism Bureau ,Hainan Airlines Co., Ltd..
