Sanya sets up stronger regulations for forest parks protection

Sanya Forest Park Management regulations will officially put in place from March 24th, 2011 in an effort to provide a strong protection to forestry resources in Sanya, according to the Sanya municipal government.
According to the Sanya Forestry Bureau, the existing forest areas reaches 138,180 hectares with a coverage rate of 72.4% in the city. At present, only two forest parks have been completed with a total area of 1,692 hectares.
To better protect natural forest resources, according to the regulations, the facilities for movie-making and large-scale performance shows will be required to clean up within 15 days following the end of activities. Besides, sightseeing buses in the forest park should be clean energy vehicles.
As for punishment for violating the rule, people will be fined RMB50 for littering in parks. Besides, a fine from RMB200 to RMB3,000 will be given to people conducting illegal activities like lighting candles or smoking in smoke-free areas.
