Hainan govt signs strategic cooperation memo with HP in San Francisco

On the morning of September 3 at local time, Hainan Provincial Government and Hewlett-Packard Company (briefly as HP) signed a strategic cooperation memo in the headquarter of HP. Luo Baoming, Hainan Governor and Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee was present at the signing ceremony and had discussed matters concerning further cooperation and promoting the construction of Hainan International Tourism Destination with the senior management teams of HP. Five vice presidents and principals of relevant departments in HP also attended the ceremony. The correspondent learns this piece of news from the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hainan Province today.According to the memo, HP will set up Asia-Pacific Energy Outsourcing Service Research Institute and Service Outsourcing College in Hainan Province; in addition, HP will have the research achievements industrialized in Hainan. The two parties will further cooperate with each other in the fields of research and development of energy outsourcing, development and outsourcing of software, construction of industrialization and informationization, and personnel training.
 
Luo Baoming made an ebullient speech during the signing ceremony to show appreciation about the efficiency and cooperation sincerity of HP and expected that HP would speed up the joint project with Hainan Province. Luo said that since the Hainan International Tourism Destination became a national strategy at the end of the last year, Hainan had gradually been a hot destination for domestic and foreign investments. It was the right time for HP to start its business in Hainan at the moment and take part in the construction of Hainan International Tourism Destination. Meanwhile Luo Baoming said that Hainan Provincial Government would spare no pains to provide potent support and considerate service to projects of HP in Hainan Province.
 
Five senior vice presidents of HP attending the signing ceremony all said that HP would provide intellectual support and all necessary assistance for the construction of Hainan International Tourism Destination with solid technical strength, first class management level and high-quality teams to achieve the mutual benefit and win-win situation.
 
Prior to the signing ceremony, Luo Baoming issued a certificate of “Consultant of Hainan Provincial People’s Government Informationization Construction” to Dr. Andrew Lai, Vice President of HP Global Software Service Center.
