The President of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators says he’s impressed with the sport’s growth in China’s southernmost province while the Director of the local Tourism Development Commission says more big plans are in the works.

They’re among a number of prominent attendees at this year’s gathering, which is taking place at the Mission Hills Haikou Resort, with nearly 200 tour operators from 32 countries and regions participating.

"Haikou’s golf operation services have already reached the highest level in the country, and several international tournaments are now held here. We also want to promote our golf tourism industry at the international level." Lu Zhiyuan, HTDC Director said.
