Qualification for OneAsia golf tour to be held in Mission Hills
Hainan Mission Hills
The OneAsia golf tour will hold 15-17 events in 2011, with 13 already confirmed, qualification for the tournaments to be held in two stages starting next month, officials said on Tuesday.
Qualifying will start with the early stages in China and Australia next month, while the final stage will be held at the Mission Hills Resort in Hainan, China, from Jan. 11-14.
"The tournament winner of the final stage will play for guaranteed entry into every OneAsia event of the 2011 season, including co-sanctioned or limited field events," the tour said in a statement.
"Additionally, many experienced players from across the globe will be exempt directly into final stage."
The tour, launched last year by the Australian PGA with the support of the Chinese and South Korean golfing bodies, is fiercely opposed by the established Asian Tour, which has sanctioned players who take part in OneAsia events
