The 2nd Haikou International Youth Experimental Arts Festival (HIYEAF) will be held from 19 Sep to 5 Oct, 2014. With support from the Royal Dutch Embassy in China and the Consulate General in Guangzhou, a variety of Dutch artists including designer Neville Mars, visual artist Suzanne Somer, photographerRuben Lundgren, choreographer/Dancer Kevin Polak, Batik band will present their extraordinary works in Hainan Province’s capital city Haikou, as well as screenings of Dutch films.
 
Dutch art group WassinkLundgren  Photography Exhibition
“Reproduction”
WassinkLundgren is a collaboration between photographers Thijs groot Wassink (1981) and Ruben Lundgren (1983), who live and work, respectively, in London and Beijing. Their works has been exhibited in museums worldwide. They are the recipients of numerous awards, including the Prix du Livre at Les Rencontres d’ Arles 2007 for their publication Empty Bottles. In "Reproductions" the Dutch photography duo WassinkLundgren shows a large variety of their artistic photobooks in which they shift mundane, often unnoticeable, everyday occurrences into visually compelling and gently amusing observations of the world around us, with China in particular.

Dutch and Chinese dance group KheN  “Journey to the East”
Dutch Choreographer Kevin and Chinese Choreographer Ningxi form the team Klen. They have been through different life and mental stages since their first play. The idea of their works are initially come from the real affection and emotion from lives. They were named as Heart Digger by the audiences.  "Journey to the East" is a play about seeking true love.  The 2 professional dancers will work with audiences to perform in different occasions. With the interaction, the boundary between the stage and the audiences are removed.

Dutch band BATIK  Live Music
Batik is a new group from Wolfert Brederode, Joost Lijbaart , Mark Haanstra and Ed Verhoef .
 
Lijbaart and Brederode play together since 2005 as a duo. The extention made by all the group members create a sound similar to the colorful block printing technique from Asia: BATIK. For Hiyeaf 2014, Batik will bring us the most.
