Restoration work on the rampart wall of Yazhou Ancient City is now underway at Yacheng Town, one of Sanya’s cultural and historical towns.

The Old adobe walls have been covered with brick stones and other broken parts are also having their outer walls renovated.

As described in historical records, Yazhou Ancient City was built in the Song Dynasty and developed into a strong city with adobe walls after expansion from the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.

The plan for renovating the city highlights the Confucian Culture, the ancient imperial examinations culture, and the historical site of the high-ranking banished loyal officials (including some Prime Ministers in ancient dynasties).

The Rampart Wall will be an important tourist attraction in Sanya after the renovation work is completed.
