On 19th March, the Li and Miao Ecological Cultural Tourism Area of Ganza Ridge Areca Valley was officially renamed to ‘Li and Miao Ecological Cultural Tourism Area of Hainan Binglanggu Valley’ (Binglanggu Valley for short) to enhance its tourism brand.

The scenic spot has been dedicated to preserving Hainan’s ethnic minority folk traditions and cultures since its opening in 1998. Li and Miao intangible cultural heritage protection items such as “Making Fire by Rubbing Sticks”, “Brocade of Li Ethnic Group, “Quilts made from Tree bark” and “Traditional Bamboo Musical Instruments” have been carried forward in preservation at the scenic spot.

After years’ of reconstruction and large amounts of investment, the Binglanggu Valley has shifted from an ordinary Li and Miao village area into one of the more popular tourist attractions in Hainan.
 
In order to attract more tourists, Binglanggu Valley is making efforts to build itself into a national 5A-level scenic spot, combining leisure, sightseeing, festivals, exhibitions and entertainment.
