4th Hainan Minority Arts Festival opens in Haikou
The opening ceremony of 4th Hainan Minority Arts Festival was held at Haikou’s Hainan Vocational College of Industry and Commerce on Jan 14th.
On the evening of the 14th, the opening ceremony of the 4th Hainan Minority Arts Festival was held at Haikou’s Hainan Vocational College of Industry and Commerce. It will go on until the 17th, when the closing ceremony will be held at the Hainan Provincial Song and Dance Theatre.
The performance will be reprised during Hainan’s upcoming “Sanyuesan” Festival. The appreciative audience numbered over 600, including delegations from cities and towns all over Hainan.
Hainan Province is home to more than 30 ethnic minorities, including the Li, Liao, Hui, and others. The total minority population of the province is over 1.4 million, making minority culture an integral part of Island life and history.
