A series of traditional festive activities will be held at Sanya’s Nanshan Temple on New Year’s Eve to welcome the arrival of 2014.

The Bell Ringing Ceremony, a popular event celebrated each year, will be held on the night of December 31st to mark the beginning of the New Year.

On that day, visitors will be offered the opportunity to participate in the tradition of striking a temple bell 108 times to get the New Year off to an auspicious start.

After the New Year’s Bell Striking Ceremony, other similar folk culture events will be held, including New Year’s gala performances, the Long Noodles Festival, tying a wish to the auspicious tree and sunrise observance on New Year’s Day.

Admission to the Nanshan Cultural Zone on New Year’s Eve will cost 78 yuan per person.
