To welcome this year’s Junpo Festival, Tunchang County, Hainan Province will hold a series of cultural activities on Junpo Plaza on March 29th, 2011.
 
It is one of the biggest festivals in Hainan to worship the national heroine called Madam Xian (513-603) who had actively promoted the communication of Hainan Island with the mainland.
 
The cultural activities will include a lion dance & singing, Qiong (Hainan) Opera performance and big offering sacrifices by locals to worship their ancestors. Villagers will be kindly invited to enjoy the dinner together and some mysterious customs shows will be put on to fascinate the public.
 
The festival will start from 7:00am till the end of the day.
