A BOGUS beggar has confessed to making up to $100,000 a year by making people feel sorry for him while he asks for money from his wheelchair.

Gary Thompson has admitted to LEX 18.com to making anywhere from $60,000 to $100,000 a year begging in Lexington, Kentucky.

Thompson is in a wheelchair because he has difficulty walking.

But his speech isn't slurred and his arms are fully functioning.

"I appreciate you guys busting me," Thompson said.

"Yeah, I'm really good at it, really good. I clear about 100,000 dollars a year doing this."

"I am normal, it just helps to be mentally handicapped."

Staring at the camera, he added: "Hey I love y'all!"

"Keep paying me! I'll see you on the street!"
