The owner of a restaurant in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province in China, has erected a board in front of the premises stating that it refuses to serve those who do not show filial piety, those who have mistresses.

It will also not serve those who spend public money for private purposes and those who do not believe that house prices will go down.

"Those who do not show filial piety or obey the rules of ethics are so different from me, I'm sick of these people", the restaurant owner identified only as Li, a People's Liberation Army veteran, told the Henan Business Daily.

Li insists that the board he has erected is not a form of advertising.

According to Li, he is trying to deliver the message that his business is different from others.

"I don't care how much money I earn. I just insist that people abide by the principles of being righteous".

The restaurant boss also expressed his belief that house prices will drop as the government continues to implement tightening measures on the sector.

"Perhaps, the turning point will come next year," he said.

Li admits that it is impossible to tell whether his customers belong to one of the four categories based on their appearance alone.

But he feels that the existence of the board displaying his feelings on the subjects of morality and honesty will be enough, adding that, "those who bring mistresses here will feel uneasy in their heart."

Many passers-by have praised the restaurant, with one resident saying: "It could help people to think more about morality."

The guy sounds mad! How would he know what the people think or do in their private lives? What's more, hasn't he learnt that Chinese ignore notices (like no smoking signs, for example)?
