Topic: Late night fireworks in Da Dong Hai.
I come to Sanya every year because I like being here and I've always been impressed by the rapid positive changes. Of course, I return because there are so many remarcably great aspects to living here. For me, the 'darkest' spot are the abnoxiously loud firworks, particulalry late at night. Im my oppinion, this shows total lakck of consideration for people not participating in the ritual and who would like to enjoy (at least a little) quiet! I hopped this 'custom', which, by the way, was deemed ilegal, except during designated special periods of the year, had all but dissapeared in Da Dong Hai and Sanya Bay. I thought and hopped that visitors here will respect the local law and I indeed enjoyed those nighgts without fireowrks! Unfortunately, I was rudely reminded that 'old habbits die hard'. In the last few nights, the fireworks came back! And I expect that, as more tourists arrive, it will only get worse. I do know that many visitors abhore the fireworks noise, particulalry late at night and early morning. Many decided not to reurn to Sanya bacause of it. I wonder if there is a way to convince the local law and order authorities enforce the already existing laws? AIC.

The 2012 New Year day did not have too much fireworks. I heard the fireworks are banned now. We will see as the CNY/Spring Festival will be here soon.

There were a few fireworks during the New Year, the noise was ok for me.
