The Chinese millionaire’s words at the wedding fuelled yet another round of pregnancy rumours
"Make a wish for us [Barbie Hsu and Wang Xiaofei]. Make a wish for our daughter," Chinese millionaire Wang Xiaofei hollered at his wedding dinner on Mar 22.
The exclamation coincided with a tip-off from the public earlier this month.
A tabloid reported that it received a tip-off, saying that Taiwanese actress was spotted at the confinement center, which younger sister Dee Hsu was previously seen at. The source added that the doctor who did Barbie's pre-natal check was the same doctor who delivered Dee's daughters.
According to the source, Barbie looked sad when she left the confinement center that day. Her eyes were red and tear-stained. The actress was also mumbling, "I'm so worried."
On Mar 23, Barbie responded to the report.
"I went to do a pre-marital health check. People used to encourage that. I want to conceive a child soon, so I want to check if I'm healthy enough [to do so] before my marriage. It's also my first time doing a cervical screening," the actress clarified.
Barbie's mother expressed, "My daughter went for a health check to prepare herself for conceiving a child. You need a healthy body for that."
Barbie's mother-in-law Zhang Lan also denied that she was going to be a grandmother.
"You'll know in 10 months' time," she said, adding that by then, everyone would know the truth.
Zhang Lan emphasised that she is a businesswoman; honesty is very important to her. The older woman promised to tell if Barbie's really pregnant.
